I am Marcos, I am a clinical psychologist graduated in 2009 with a five-year degree from the Fundação Universidade Mineira de Educação e Cultura, and Master's degree in Personnel Management completed in 2012 at Università degli Studi di Genova.

I am a psychotherapist with experience in online assistance and my goal is to provide the best conditions to you explore and express your deepest feelings and most complex thoughts without the fear of being judged.

Psychotherapy is about choosing the path of self-knowledge, is about rediscovering and reinventing yourself. It is a meeting with yourself, and I am here to help you in this process. With my experience, I hope to offer you a calm and welcoming environment to help relieve your pain.

How does online psychotherapy work?

To pursue an online therapy you will need:
​
1) A stable internet connection;
2) A computer/tablet or cell phone with a headphone for privacy;
3) A Skype, Zoom, Whats-app or Google Meet account;
4) A quiet place to talk without any problems.
​
The first meeting will take half hour and is free. This is the time that will be used to get us familiar and to understand your needs. If we get along in a good way, we can then schedule some appointments.
​
In addition, it is important to note that the sessions will not be recorded at any time. Notes or writings of my observations are protected by professional confidentiality and reserved only to another colleague psychologist.

What is a Psychological Advice?
​
In the beginning it is like a meeting between friends, however with a specific reason. I will introduce myself and I will talk a little about myself and I will invite you to do the same. Step by step we will begin a friendly conversation about you and in a very natural way questions will come up, like:

“Have you ever talked to a psychologist before?” “
Why are you looking for a psychologist?” Etc....
​
You might not know the answer. It can happen, and that is not a problem. In fact, it is quite normal. Sometimes we feel discouraged, sad and without energy and we do not really know why. In the psychological advice sessions, you decide what you want to talk about, and then we take a path to a specific situation that you need help with. That is my role, facilitate your way, to build together an understanding of the problem and then get some knowledge on how to overcome what hurts you.

What about the Psychotherapy?
​
On the other hand, the Psychotherapy path requires more time. The relationship between patient and therapist is strengthened to the point where you can let your thoughts go through subjects that you probably would not talk to anyone.
​
It is an arduous but necessary path, often in psychotherapy there is not only one problem to consider, so it is common having more than one issue coming up. Therefore, during the sessions, it may happen that we must investigate another question that the patient may not have noticed before.
​
The purpose of the psychotherapy is to provide psychological relief and mental well-being through the understanding of a particular problem that is causing pain and suffering. In addition, it is a process that may cause some initial discomfort as it will be necessary to bother some "wounds" that are still open. However, once the problem is dissolved, you will feel a great relief.
​
Some of the benefits of psychotherapy: you get in touch with yourself, you can understand your own feelings towards yourself and others, and how it will affect you. Thus, you will know how to deal with problems in a more balanced and less conflictive way.

I offer online psychological assistance to adults with low Self-Esteem problems, Stress, Anger and difficulties in developing relationships. The sessions have an average of one meeting per week with a duration of approximately 50 minutes each. The first meeting will take about half an hour and is free of charge.
Payments: Before each session by sending me the bank transfer slip.
