Welcome to Your Journey of Growth and Self-Discovery

Hello and welcome! I’m Marcos, a clinical psychologist and professional coach dedicated to supporting people on their path of growth and self-discovery. I hold a five-year degree in Psychology (2009), tittle officially recognized as a professional psychologist in Switzerland, a a Master’s in Human Management and Entrepreneurial Behavior from UNIGE, (2013), and I am a co-founder of ALPSY, a Swiss association that supports the psychological well-being of immigrants and expatriates across Switzerland and Europe.

For over 10 years, I have offered psychological counselling and mental coaching services to individuals and organizations, both online and in person (by appointment) in Basel and Zurich.

In clinical settings, my goal is to create a warm and safe space where you can explore your inner world, overcome emotional blocks or past wounds, and reconnect with your authentic self.
Visiting a psychologist does not mean you have a mental health issue, it's actually an act of self-care, a conscious investment in your personal growth, clarity, and emotional balance. Sometimes, it’s simply about realigning with your values and regaining the power over your life choices.

I believe this is a precious time dedicated just for you. I would be honored to walk alongside you with empathy, professionalism, and full respect for your rhythm and needs.

If you are living in Switzerland, I offer psychological counselling and mental coaching services online and in person. While these services do not include psychotherapy, they may be covered by supplementary health insurance, depending on your policy. Please check directly with your provider. For Swiss residents and individuals living abroad, psychological counselling or mental coaching sessions may also be reimbursable through private international insurance. Please consult your individual coverage.

Taking the First Steps in Your Online Sessions:

Starting an online psychological journey may seem a bit unusual at first, but it’s often the first step toward meaningful changes. And that’s exactly where we’ll begin, with a simple desire for change, even without needing to make major efforts right away.

All you need is a space of your own, a bit of quiet, and the willingness to take care of yourself. To begin an online journey together, you’ll need:

-
A stable internet connection
-
A device (computer, tablet, or smartphone), preferably with headphones for clearer and more private communication
-
An account on Skype, Zoom, WhatsApp, or Gmail
-
A quiet and safe space where you feel comfortable speaking freely during our session

Our first meeting will be a chance to get to know each other and understand your needs. We’ll talk about you, what brought you here, and what I can offer to help in your process. It’s an open space where we both explore whether we feel comfortable continuing the journey together.

For minors the first session can take place with the presence of the parents to clarify expectations. From the second session onward, the kid will have private sessions. Parents have the right to receive general updates on the progress of their children, but specific contents always remains confidential, in full respect of minor’s privacy. External interventions will only be considered in cases of a concrete risk to their life, mental or physical disorders and always in accordance with current regulations and ethical standards.

Moreover, online sessions will never be recorded. Any notes or observations taken during the sessions are protected by professional confidentiality and handled with the utmost discretion, in accordance with current legislation and the Psychologists’ Code of Ethics.

If you feel this format may be right for you, or if you’re feeling ready and motivated to begin an online guided journey, I’d be happy to support you in this process of personal growth and transformation.

What Is Mental Coaching?

Mental Coaching is a psychological support journey that helps you gain clarity during moments when life presents important choices, whether in your career, personal relationships, love life, family, or social environment.

It’s a shared learning process, built together, in which the goal is to create the right conditions for you to make more conscious decisions, aligned with your values and desires, and with a greater chance of satisfaction and success. Throughout this process, we explore your internal resources and existing strengths, bringing them to light through conversations focused on your narratives, and motivational tools..

My role as a Mental Coach is to offer active and respectful guidance, helping you navigate through your limitations, behaviors, and possibilities connected to your reality, talents, and inner potential. My Mental Coaching sessions will supports you in becoming more self-aware, strengthening your inner dialogue, and finding the courage to face what’s new in your life. By the end of this journey, many people feel more centered, free, and strong, not because "life" has become easier, but because they’ve gained a new perspective and greater confidence in their ability to face changes.

What to Expect from Psychological Counselling?

At first, it might feel a bit like meeting a good friend for a coffee… but with a deeper purpose, entirely focused on you.

We’ll get to know each other and I’ll tell you something about myself and how I work, and then invite you to share something about yourself, or whatever you feel like talking about, without any pressure.

Gradually, we’ll move into a more relaxed conversations, from which natural questions may arise, like:

"Have you ever spoken to a psychologist before?" or "What brought you here...?"

You don’t need to have all the answers right away. Even though our conversation will be honest and authentic, it’s completely normal to say, "I’m not sure what to say..."

Sometimes, people feel sad, discouraged, or confused without fully understanding the reason. That’s exactly why psychological counselling exists: to offer you a safe space where you can explore what you’re feeling, name your emotions, and begin taking care of yourself.

There are no right or wrong talks here. You decide where to begin, what to share, and which parts of your story you want to explore or transform, and you may find clarity in confusion, and courage in fear.

My role is to welcome you, guide you, and walk by your side to better understand what’s holding you back, hurting you, or destabilizing you. The psychological counselling helps you make sense of what you’re going through and find new ways to cope, grow, and feel better.

And What About Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a deeper process that requires time, presence, and a true willingness to connect with yourself often at unexplored levels.

It’s a safe space where, over time, trust between us grows strong enough for you to feel free to speak about thoughts or experiences you may never have shared before. You might not start with a single clear question or personal problem, but as we go deeper, hidden parts of your personality may come to light long with quiet wounds that still hurt, even if you haven’t fully realized it yet.

In psychotherapy, everything has its own time and way of manifesting. The goal isn’t simply to "solve a problem," but to understand the roots of pain, making sense of suffering, and build new interpretations and possibilities for your well-being, even if that means learning to live with your scars.

It may begin with discomfort, as touching sensitive points can awaken emotions we tend to avoid. But by gently revisiting those fragile parts of your personality, we can begin to heal old wounds and open the way to transformation and relief.

Some benefits of psychotherapy includes:
-
greater self-awareness
-
better understanding of your emotions, relationships, and behaviors
-
increased ability to face difficulties in a more balanced, less conflicted way
-
and most importantly, renewed trust in your ability to navigate life
Ultimately, psychotherapy is an act of love toward yourself. It’s a precious time to learn to listen to yourself, recognize who you are, and care for your inner wounds by creating space for a more authentic, free, and happier version of yourself.
